Our Story

Finishline Publications was founded in 2024 by its author and owner, Kanda Forbis. Writing has been a therapeutic outlet for Kanda to share her testimony and journey through grief. On November 11, 2023, her oldest son, Bowman, went to his eternal home with our Heavenly Father at the age of four years old. Bowman's sudden and tragic passing devastated the lives of everyone that loved him. Kanda knew that the hope of Jesus is the only way to make it through. When facing trials, you can give up or give it to God. Kanda wholeheartedly believes that allowing God to use this tragedy to further His kingdom gives purpose and meaning to something that otherwise makes no sense. It is her prayer that her writing may bring glory to God and encourage others in their faith as they walk through adversity. The name 'Finishline Publications' is an ode to Bowman and his love for racing dirt bikes. The name serves as a reminder to always press on to finish the race, and to keep our sights on what lies beyond the finishline- on the eternal.
